In the tables below, we share customer reviews and insights about Brooklinen Pillows from people who’ve used one.
Brooklinen Pillow users found these products to be very comfortable and plush. Although a few customers felt some options were a little too firm, many appreciated the cool supportiveness of their down and down alternative pillows.
With the Brooklinen Down Pillow, a few sleepers did notice a smell, in particular, a “feather” like odor that was unpleasant. However, most said that the odor went away with a little airing out. There were also a few complaints about feeling the feathers near the surface of the pillow.
The Brooklinen Down Alternative Pillow users had fewer complaints, but most Brooklinen customers enjoyed these pillows overall.
Before you buy a pillow, it’s important to research what users are saying. In the following table, we summarized what we learned from comments from by sleepers who previously bought a Brooklinen Bedding Pillow.
What Type of Sleeper is Best Suited to Brooklinen Pillows?
A sleeper’s experience with a pillow often depends on his or her body weight and preferred sleep position.
Based on owner experiences and product analysis, Brooklinen Pillows have earned the following ratings from sleepers with different weights and position preferences.
For more information on sleeping positions please see our pillow guides for side, back, and stomach sleepers.
Brooklinen’s pillows are made to be a comfortable compromise between plush pillows that you can easily sink into and firm supportive pillows that provide proper spinal alignment.
To get the best sleep out of a Brooklinen pillow, you should choose a pillow that matches your preferred sleep position.
For instance, the “plush” pillow is recommended for stomach sleepers. At the same time, a side sleeper is pushed in the direction of buying a Brooklinen Down or Brooklinen Down Alternative Pillow in “firm.”

Construction and Firmness
Brooklinen’s down and down alternative pillows are encased in a 100 percent long-staple cotton casing. The cotton exterior has a 400 thread count, creating a sleep surface that’s smooth and soft to the touch. Their pillows are also double-stitched to ensure their overall durability.
The Brooklinen Down Pillow is comprised of ethically-produced Canadian White Down clusters sourced from Hutterite farms. Although marketed as a down pillow, it’s important to note that the purity depends on which firmness level you choose. For example, the “plush” pillow is comprised of 100 percent fluffy down clusters. Meanwhile, Brookline’s “mid-plush” down pillow contains a dual-core that’s made up of feathers surrounded by down. The “firm” option also has a dual-core; the difference is that while “mid-plush” pillows are made up of 80 percent feathers, the “firm” pillow cores are 86 percent feathers. Brooklinen Down Pillows are certified with the Down Association of Canada.
As for the Brooklinen Down Alternative Pillow, it successfully mimics the sensation of a pure down pillow thanks to its high grade microfiber filling. These ultra-fine synthetic fibers give sleepers the sensation of resting on a plush down pillow while providing a hypoallergenic sleep environment.
Additionally, all of Brooklinen’s pillows are treated with Ultra Fresh Antimicrobial. Ultra Fresh is US EPA registered, BPR compliant, and OEKO-TEX certified. The substance helps prevent the growth of bacteria while prolonging the life of Brooklinen Pillows.
There are three different firmness levels available in three different firmness options: “plush” (soft), “mid-plush” (medium), and “firm.” With Brooklinen Down Pillows, the firmness level is directly impacted by the percentage of feathers making up the pillow’s core. By making these adjustments, Brooklinen can provide sleepers with additional firmness choices than what would be available with a pure down pillow.

Brooklinen Pillow Care Instructions
Instructions For First Time Use: Some mild off-gassing is possible, so just air out your pillow for a day to get rid of it.
Brooklinen strongly recommends that you seldom wash their pillows. They suggest that if a pillow must be washed, you get it professionally cleaned or occasionally spot clean it using Woolite or Oxyclean. If you find that you absolutely have to clean your Brooklinen Pillow, please put it in your washing machine on a low and gentle setting. Then, tumble dry the product on low. -
