General Overview
Pros
- Englander offers different mattress types to accommodate a wide range of sleeper preferences.
- Customers who purchase innerspring mattresses from Englander claim they offer solid edge support and are responsive enough for sex.
- Those who own an Englander memory foam mattress say their bed isolates motion and produces virtually no noise.
Cons
- Chief complaints among Englander innerspring owners include poor longevity, middling motion isolation, and above-average weight (making them difficult to move).
- Chief complaints for E-gel memory foam models include below-average durability, ‘sleeping hot’, and off-gassing smells.
- Compared to other manufacturers who sell mattresses through third-party-retailers, Englander provides very little information about specifications, prices, sizes, and other details for any of their current mattresses. This may be problematic for online shoppers.
- Most Englander mattresses are covered under a 10-year warranty with five years of nonprorated coverage. By comparison, most 10-year warranties from competing mattress sellers offer exclusively nonprorated coverage.
Englander mattresses are sold exclusively through 3rd-party retailers.

Warranty Details
Warranty: Englander offers variable warranty coverage, depending on the selected model.
- Most current models are protected under a 10-year warranty. This warranty is divided into nonprorated and prorated periods.
- The first five years are nonprorated. Englander will replace all mattresses that are deemed defective; please note that this is not a repair warranty.
- The last five years are prorated. Prorated charges are calculated by multiplying 10% of the current product price (according to the original seller) by the number of years of ownership. For instance, a mattress that currently costs $1,000 would incur prorated replacement charges of $600 during the sixth year of ownership, $700 during the seventh year, and so on.
- In the event that a repair is warranted, owners must either provide transportation or accept freight charges for shipping mattresses to the nearest Englander factory.
- The warranty will cover the following mattress defects:
- Visible indentations or sagging in the sleep surface that measure one and three-quarters inches (1 3/4″) or deeper and do not result from owner abuse or improper foundational support.
- The warranty will not cover the following:
- Visible indentations or sagging in the sleep surface that do not measure one and three-quarters inches (1 3/4″) or deeper. These are considered standard wear and tear.
- Replacement requests that occur due to changes in the owner’s comfort preferences.
- Burns, cuts, tears, stains, and other types of physical damage that occur due to owner misuse, improper cleaning, and/or inadequate foundational support.
- Uneven middle surfaces on King-size mattressses. Per Englander: ‘On a king size mattress, the middle 18” of the bed normally does not get slept on so it usually does not settle at the same rate as the primary sleeping surface. In addition, because there are two foundations underneath the mattress you may feel and see a ridge down the center of the bed. This is an inherent aspect of owning a king size bed’.
- This warranty exclusively extends to original Englander owners who purchase their mattress from an authorized retailer. Those who buy or acquire their mattress from the original owner or a non-authorized retailer will not be entitled to warranty protection.
- Most current models are protected under a 10-year warranty. This warranty is divided into nonprorated and prorated periods.
