Buffy Cloud Sleep Ratings
Category | Criteria | Buffy Cloud Comforter Rating | What Our Testing Shows |
---|---|---|---|
Shell Material Quality | The shell refers to the exterior of the comforter and determines how it feels on your skin. This category rates the quality of the materials used to make the shell. | Excellent | The eucalyptus shell has a soft, silky feel that’s smoother than cotton. It’s cool to the touch and is naturally resistant to mold, mildew and dust mites. |
Fill Material Quality |
The fill is the material found in the interior of the comforter. This category rates the quality of the materials used to make the fill. |
Very Good |
Recycled-content polyester is airblown in layers, resulting in a light, fluffy and “cloud-like” feel. |
Warmth |
This category rates how warm a comforter is. Some comforters will keep you warm in cold temperatures while some require that you bundle up with an additional blanket. |
Very Good |
The Buffy has a mid-weight feel and should do fine during the winter in most locations. |
Breathability |
Breathable comforters won’t retain as much heat and will keep users from sleeping too hot. Breathability results from good airflow and a tendency to wick away moisture. |
Very Good |
Eucalyptus is naturally breathable, and the Buffy’s airy fill materials don’t retain heat as much as down does. Consequently, this comforter is very breathable, although it could get a bit too hot during the summer. |
Durability | How long the comforter lasts with proper care. The average comforter lasts for around 15 years. |
Very Good |
Eucalyptus Lyocell is known for its durability, and because it’s naturally resistant to mold, mildew and mites, you don’t need to wash it as often, prolonging its lifespan. |
Cleaning |
Depending on the construction, different comforters have different cleaning requirements. This category measures the ease of cleaning the comforter. |
Fair |
This comforter doesn’t need to be washed as often as others due to its mold, mildew and mite resistant shell. However, dry cleaning is recommended when it does need to be cleaned. |
The Buffy Cloud Scored well in practically all of our categories, establishing itself as a well-rounded, all-season comforter that we’re happy to recommend.
Its greatest strengths are its’ breathability and its’ soft, light feel, which result primarily from the quality eucalyptus shell.
Despite its light feel, the Buffy is fairly warm, and should be a practical comforter in all climates but the coldest and warmest extremes.
Buffy Breeze Sleep Ratings
Category | Criteria | Buffy Breeze Comforter Rating | What Our Testing Shows |
---|---|---|---|
Shell Material Quality | The shell refers to the exterior of the comforter and determines how it feels on your skin. This category rates the quality of the materials used to make the shell. | Excellent | Like the cloud, the Breeze has a eucalyptus shell with a soft and silky feel. It’s cool to the touch and is naturally resistant to mold, mildew and dust mites. |
Fill Material Quality | The fill is the material found in the interior of the comforter. This category rates the quality of the materials used to make the fill. | Excellent | The Breeze is filled with the same eucalyptus Lyocell that makes up the shell, making for a breathable and durable fill. |
Warmth | This category rates how warm a comforter is. Some comforters will keep you warm in cold temperatures while some require that you bundle up with an additional blanket. | Good | While this comforter provides moderate warmth, those who live in colder climates may want opt for the Cloud instead. |
Breathability | Breathable comforters won’t retain as much heat and will keep users from sleeping too hot. Breathability results from good airflow and a tendency to wick away moisture. | Excellent | Made of 100% eucalyptus, known for its airflow and moisture-wicking properties, the Breeze is about as breathable as they come. |
Durability | How long the comforter lasts with proper care. The average comforter lasts for around 15 years. | Very Good | Eucalyptus Lyocell is a very durable material. Further, its mold, mildew and mite-resistance makes it so you don’t have to wash it as much, lengthening its lifespan. |
Cleaning | Depending on the construction, different comforters have different cleaning requirements. This category measures the ease of cleaning the comforter. | Good | Since this comforter is resistant to dust, mildew and mold, it does not need to be cleaned as much as other comforters. When it does need cleaning, however, Buffy recommends dry cleaning. |
Like the Cloud, the Breeze scored well across the board, and we’d happily recommend both of them.
More breathable than the Cloud, the Breeze sacrifices a little warmth for its excellent temperature regulation.
We would opt for the Cloud if you live in colder climate and the Breeze if you live in a warmer area.

Materials and Construction
Among the most compelling characteristics of both the Buffy Cloud and Buffy Breeze comforters are their eco-conscious, animal cruelty-free constructions. Buffy comforters are crafted completely from plant-based and reclaimed materials.
The outer layer of the Buffy Cloud comforter is made from Lyocell, a natural fabric crafted from eucalyptus wood pulp from Austria. Eucalyptus fiber is hailed for being naturally soft, soothing, and anti-inflammatory. The durable, plant-based fabric resists microbes and pathogens like mold, mildew, dust mites.
Inside the Buffy Cloud, you’ll find an equally environmentally friendly fill. Every Buffy is spun from around 50 reclaimed BPA- and phthalate-free PET plastic bottles. Buffy’s fill is air-blown and layered to mimic the soft, fluffy feel of a cloud.
The 100% recycled polyester is kinder to the environment than traditional polyester, which is sourced from new petroleum. Buffy’s sustainable fill manufacturing process has helped keep 2,500,000 plastic bottles out of landfills.
The Buffy Breeze is 100% plant-based, with both the outer shell and the full consisting of Eucalyptus Lyocell. Not only is the Breeze more sustainably produced than your average comforter, but it’s also fully compostable, with USDA bio-based and Vincotte certifications. Eucalyptus is known as one of the most breathable and durable materials.

Product Care
Buffy recommends that you dry clean your comforter to make it last, as some of the materials could be damaged in a standard washing machine.
The good news is that because its shell is naturally resistant to mold, mildew and dust mites, you won’t need to wash the Buffy Comforter as frequently as other comforters. You can also purchase a separate duvet cover, but it might interfere with the comforter’s cooling qualities and lightweight feel.
